National workshop

A national workshop is part of the establishment of the Primary Industries Education Foundation. The workshop was held in Canberra on 25-26 February 2010. It was supported by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and the National Institute for Regional and Rural Australia (NIRRA).

General information

The aim is to provide networking opportunities and interaction between participants and the Board. It will also be a venue for show casing initiatives and sharing ideas.

It is expected attendees will come from all states and territories and include teachers, education centre staff, education officers, farmers, industry organisation staff, research and development corporation personnel, University, TAFE, Ag College staff, State DPIs or equivalent, Education Departments, Agricultural Societies, consultants, Australian Government organisations such as DAFF, CSIRO and DEEWR, professional associations, and community members interested in the subject.

Workshop outcomes

We expect the outcomes of the workshop will include:

  • an informed board;
  • a confirmed national network;
  • a strong membership proposition;
  • a trading name if desired.
